ICAR TECHNICAL TRAINING

I-CAR offers collision repair certificatioIns to individuals and businesses alike.

I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, is a well-known international, not-for-profit auto technician training organization. I-CAR was founded in 1979 to serve the auto repair industry and the public. Auto technicians can choose to enroll in one or more of I-CAR's training programs to become certified in that specific area of the auto repair industry. Auto repair businesses can also choose to become a certified I-CAR Gold Class Professional business by having at least one I-CAR Platinum Individual-certified employee in each of four certification areas.

Industry Training Alliance

The I-CAR Industry Training Alliance is a program whereby community colleges, technical schools, auto manufacturers and large collision repair businesses can become approved training providers. Businesses interested in joining the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance must be National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence-certified Continuing Automotive Service Education providers, complete an extensive application and work with I-CAR to develop their program. Students receiving training through a Training Alliance provider earn I-CAR credit hours that are listed on individual training records, but certificates are not issued by I-CAR for training received through the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance.
