Communication could be improved. Lenny informed me that it was their first time working with USAA and so it took a bit longer than they expected. This information would have been nice to know when I dropped the car off instead of having it be the closing comments from Lenny before I drove away in my finished car. He also did not call with updates like he said he would. I called them and spoke to Dottie who would give me an update, put me on hold so that Lenny could tell me the same thing. The text messages were nice, but provided little information. I think one said something like you're car is almost ready. This tells me nothing since there is no timeline associated with it. Does that mean it is ready the same day? The next day? In three days as was quoted to me after USAA approved the charges?
Additionally, Service King dropped the **** on transitions. When I made the drop off appointment with the call center in Chicago, I was told that she could check a box that would allow the car rental company (Enterprise) to know that I would be needing a car that day. First, I found out when I arrived at Enterprise that they open at 8am-- I was given the option to drop my car off at 7am. Had I done that, I would have been stuck until Enterprise opened! Second, Enterprise was not expecting me to rent a car. The checked box on the computer did not work.
Lenny also told me on the car ride to Enterprise that they used to have a shuttle, but don't anymore. He then mentioned that they sometimes use client's cars. I noticed that there was 30 miles put on my car from drop off to pick up. Seems like a lot of miles when the car should be having work done on it?
The good: They took me to Enterprise to help me get to work quicker. (Just in time for Enterprise to open.) Everyone was friendly on the phone and in person and smiling. This counts for a lot when a person is having their car repaired after an accident.
