If money were no object, what kind of car/cars would you go for? Well, according to a couple of websites on the issue, following are what a few of the NFL’s players keep in their garages, brought to you by all of us at Auto Collision Center:
• Calvin Johnson: This former Detroit Lions wide receiver drives a 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo that seats four and can go from zero to 60 in 3.2 seconds. With a 4.8-liter engine, this car can reach 190 miles per hour. Johnson’s model has a resale value of $107,572.
• Antrel Rolle: This New York Giants safety drives a red, 2009 Maserati Gran Turismo, which sports an engine designed by Maserati and Ferrari engineers. Its standard 4.2 liter V8 engine can reach 177 miles per hour. In 2009, the car listed for $117,500.
• Russell Wilson: This Super Bowl winning quarterback drives a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, specifically, the G63 AMG – which sells for about $135,700.
• Tom Brady: The Patriots QB who has even been featured in the German automaker’s ads – drives a 2012 Audi R8, which has a Blue Book value of about $148,200. Originally created as a race car, in 2007, the R8 came off the track and went on the road. Brady’s other car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee ($29,995). Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler also drives an Audi R8 – an orange and white 2013 GT model that starts at about $200,000, but Brady is making him look like a pure rookie on the road.
• Patrick Willis: The former San Francisco 49ers linebacker drives, among a couple of other high-end rides, a black 2013 Aston Martin DB9, which retailed that year for $198,300. Willis had its windows tinted and added black satin rims with red outlines. This baby can reach 183 mph and will surely turn heads!
• Reggie Bush: This former New Orleans Saints running back drives a Shelby Mustang GT500, with the same paint job as the one in the film Gone in Sixty Seconds, which he bought for $300,000. He also owns a 2011 Lamborghini Aventador, which can go from zero to 60 in under three seconds, and which set him back approximately $441,600. He is said to have sold his Ferrari 430 to buy it. Also opting for a Aventador, Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden, has a 2014 model, for which he shelled out nearly a half million dollars, and which he got painted in his team's colors.
• Frank Gore — 49ers running back — drives a $350,000 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead – considered among the all-time best high-end luxury automobiles.
It's not likely that we will be seeing one these amazing cars here in Hayward, CA anytime soon, but we can at least dream a little, right? Enjoy the football season as you root for your favorite team!
