My 2003 Ford Taurus was just repaired from a collision. SDR sent it to Hunt Valley Eurocar for front end alignment. When the car was taken to a local garage today for something else, the tie rod end on the RF of the car was in such bad shape that there was no way an alignment was done. Calling SDR the estimator (Shannon) told me that the alignment wasn't SDR's responsibility. That is not true. SDR had my car and they charged me $89.95 for the front end alignment so it is there responsibility. Now I have to pay for a new tie rod end and another wheel alignment.
In addition, the estimator (Shannon Weismantle) lied to me and said she could not find used body panels for my 2003 Ford Taurus (RF fender and hood). The salvage yards of America are filled with used Ford Taurus parts. Yesterday, just to see if I could, I was able to locate a used hood and fender in under 2 hours.
Also, my car came back with no power steering. The power steering pump reservoir was very low for some reason. Apparently the alignment shop, Hunt Valley Eurocar thinks that it is normal for a car to take immense effort to steer it. SDR Collision did not, according to estimator Shannon, test drive the car. Gee, why not?
The customer service is terrible at SDR Collision and the estimator named Shannon Weismantle likes to think she knows everything and has a bad attitude. I have never had a body shop estimator tell me that my daughter, who drives my car which was repaired, is of an age where "she has to learn how to handle these types of things." Why is Shannon giving me parenting advice when I am helping my daughter? Shannon’s attitude from the get-go was awful. As far as I can tell, customers are an interruption of Shannon’s day – not the reason for it.
I do not recommend SDR Collision.
