Expert Collision

I recommend you go elsewhere unless you have a relatively new car with readily available parts. DO NOT take them a classic or unusual car. I was hit by a kid in his mom's Toyota a couple weeks ago. Allstate sent me to their "good hands" dealer who didn't feel like looking for parts (it's a Saab 9-7x). I called Expert on recommendation of an acquaintance. Gary (the owner) assured me he would work with me to source parts and have my older truck repaired. I have a lot of money into the truck and parts are fairly rare - I told him this on the phone and he said no problem, they would work with me to get the car repaired. I heard nothing for ten days, then the insurance company calls to tell me the truck is totaled due to the cost/availability of parts. I call Gary and he says it's out of his hands and the insurance company is at fault. Maybe so, but if Gary had told me up front that it was Allstate's call, the car would never have gone to Expert. So I'm screwed, the car is a total loss, even though I could have repaired it in my driveway. All Gary had to do was pick-up the phone and call me and tell me he couldn't do the work, or find the parts - now I'm out of a truck, and Allstate is paying me half of what it will cost to replace it.
