Top 5 Automotive Radio/Podcast Shows

Have a long drive ahead and looking for something to occupy your time? Or maybe you are tinkering around the garage and want to listen to some car talk. If you’re a car fan, you might want to consider listening to an automotive radio show or podcast. There are plenty to choose from.
At Service King Oak Cliff, we like listening to car radio shows in Dallas, TX all the time, so that we can gather information to hopefully use later.

Here are our five favorites:

1.) Under the Hood Automotive Talk Radio
Known as a fun and informative radio show, Under the Hood is played on 150 radio stations each week. Russ, Channon and Chris are the “Motor Medics” and offer repair tips and advice based on knowledge they have learned from working in their own auto recycling facility and automotive shop. They also take calls from listeners. Miss a show? No worries. They are replayed on podcasts on their RSS feed, Stitcher Radio and iTunes.
2.) Car Talk
This weekly radio show on NPR radio was first started in 1977 by Tom and Ray Magliozzi, also known as “Click and Clack.” Even though the brothers retired in 2012, NRP affiliates have continued to play reruns of this popular show where two of the country’s funniest mechanics help answer questions from car owners. It’s a show to enjoy even if you don’t know a thing about cars.

3.) The Classic Car Show
Love classic cars? Then you’ll want to check out the Classic Car Show with Steve Rinaldo and Jim Weber every Saturday. One week you’ll hear about great “Barn Finds” and the next you’ll get a sneak peak about upcoming cars shows and events.

4.) Car Pro Show
Every week, Jerry Reynolds and Kevin McCarthy guide prospective car and truck buyers through the often-confusing process. From leasing to trade-ins, Reynolds and McCarthy provide expert advice in an educational, yet entertaining style. You’ll learn what to consider when purchasing a vehicle as well as new models on the market. In addition, they share valuable review information.

5.) Ron Ananian The Car Doctor
Ron Ananian is known in many parts of the country as the “Car Doctor.” The owner of R\A Automotive in New Jersey, Ananian is featured on WOR Radio Network’s nationally syndicated show. With more than 30 years of experience, Ananian discusses all aspects of car repair including tips for motorists on how to avoid repair fraud. He has also hosted a call-in talk show about auto repair on New York’s WFAS-AM radio as well as the national syndicated program Classic Car Restoration on DIY Network.
