About Collision Pros- A little bit of our history

In 1975, owner, Brian von Tress began working in a small auto body repair shop after school and during his summers. He quickly realized that he had a passion for fixing cars. By the time Brian got out of high school he was well on his way to being a journeyman automotive paint technician.

Brian worked full time as a journeyman technician while attending college. After graduating from Sacramento State University, Brian went to work for a large Automotive Paint company. During the several years with a paint company Brian went back to college at night to get his Master’s degree. He knew he wanted back into the auto body business, because he wanted to work with customers.

In 1997 Brian graduated with an MBA degree and went to work as a regional manager for a large collision repair chain. Over the last 17 years Brian worked his way up to Chief Operations Officer with a chain of 19 repair shops. Brian found that the larger company moved him away from the customers and employees that he loved to serve. After long discussions with his wife and two sons, Brian started Collision Pros and is on a mission to improve the collision repair experience for all drivers in California.
