I was happy with how I was treated and the communication was excellent. However after returning how I realized there was damage to my fender that was not there before I had taken my car in. I thought I saw spots when i got it from the shop but was in a hurry and just assumed it was probably dirt. When i got home I looked closer and realized it was actual damage. I'm assuming nothing will be done because I did not inspect before I left but I also just assumed that I could trust that my vehicle would be fine. Apparently I was wrong.

Except for the front right trim piece that we talked about needing to be reattached, everything looks wonderful. I wish they would’ve looked at anything out of place, but they did not.

Came in Saturday, got estimate for $****,081.....very basic fix. Even though it was slightly more than my other estimate I figured I’d go with what appeared to be smaller local business. Upon drop off the next Tuesday the gal informed me that they’d call if anything changed with job as “98% of the work ends up being more than the estimate”. I said, wow this seems like a very straight forward project, no other cars involved, no engine damage, no frame damage.....just a larger dent in the end. So off I went thinking nothing about the conversation. Sure enough, later that day I get a call saying that it was underestimated and would be $106 more. It was the “sorry, but the damage seemed more than originally thought”. At this point what choice do I really have? Especially for just over 100 bucks. My time and hassle is worth more. Anyway, I got to thinking.....does this body shop really only get 2% if it’s estimated correct? That’s 2 out of 100! And to call and say it’s $106 more? I’m a business owner and I’d never risk irritating a customer over an 8% increase due to my employee not estimating correctly. If it was something where major damage uncovered other major issues, then yes let’s discuss the increase. But $106 more when it was a straight forward job?
In the end it didn’t settle well with me. Maybe it would have hit me different if I hadn’t been told “98% of estimates” end up being more. Sounds like it’s time to either train or get better estimators.....
